Library Unplugged has always been notorious for its improvisations, but this year it wasn't the Improv Team.
It was Friday, November 1, the final day of the first Spirit Week of the year and Arts Council geared up to put on the classic event Library Unplugged. Little did they know, that the first one of the year would in fact be unplugged. As Branson Mifsud and Gabe Beneteau skilfully set up the sound system, they became increasingly frustrated when they were unable to find one wire that would make the whole system run. Unfortunately, the power source wire was never found but the show went on!
Library Unplugged saw many new faces among the roughly 100 people spectating. There were many wonderful performers, including some fresh young talent. Homemade brownies and lemonade were sold in support of future Arts Council events and tonnes of canned food item donations were brought in. In addition, Arts Council Vice-President, Lizzie Giffen and Secretary, Kiera Charbonneau emcee'd for their very first time, and with great enthusiasm and success.
The next Library Unplugged will be Friday, December 13. Arts Council is thrilled to have started the year off on a good note.
