"Eat Well to Excel"
Barrie Central has been supporting the nutrition program for a few years now. The Eat Well to Excel program in Simcoe County has served over 75,000 children at 188 different schools and locations. Every single day, Central’s breakfast club starts at 7:35a.m and goes until period 1 starts, at 8:00am.
Also, there are bowls of nutritious food in guidance, the main office and student success. “You are always free to help yourself,” said Latoya, a volunteer with the breakfast program.
Mr. O’Brien said that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”. It really is important to have some food in you in the morning, because it helps you concentrate a lot better and helps you stay focused on your subjects.
There are two amazing teachers who set up every morning: Mrs. Kell and Mrs. Ferris. There are also student volunteers that help out. I would like to give them a big thank you for taking time out of your morning and helping others out.
Remember, if you don’t have time to eat breakfast in the morning at home, come to the cafe and join us for some nutritious food.
