Do you love art? Do you love meeting new people? Do you love learning about foreign cultures? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then Classics is the club for you!
"What is Classics club?" I hear you asking. That's right, I can hear your thoughts. Classics is an amazing club organized by the wonderful Mrs. Gillis. In the Classics club, you work as a team to create artwork of all kinds, including carved leather, life-sized sculptures, creative plays, and much, much more! These creations will be part of the competition at the annual Classics Conference at the end of the year.
At Classics Conference, the group travels to Brock University for a week to compete in athletic, academic, and artistic events. These events include: rowing, the all-male fashion show, and chariot racing. To be eligible to go to Classics Conference you must be an active member of the club and taking Latin. However, if you are not taking Latin, you can still join Classics and lend a hand. It's loads of fun. Just remember to wear disposable clothes! So far, Classics club meets every Thursday after school. Any additional meetings will be announced later. So come on down this Thursday, enjoy some food, and have some fun. Hard work conquers all!
